Helping Your New Puppy or Kitten Get Off to the Right Start
At All Pet Animal Hospital, we know that the needs of a young puppy or kitten are much different than those of an adult pet. We also know that starting puppies and kittens off right can set the stage for their lifetime health. Illnesses and ailments that would just cause minor discomfort to an adult dog or cat can be devastating to the fragile systems of a young animal, so it is important for us to establish a relationship with your pet as soon as possible after birth or adoption.

At six to eight weeks old, puppies and kittens are ready to begin their vaccination series. Because diseases like feline leukemia and canine parvovirus are deadly to young animals, it is very important not to delay puppy and kitten vaccinations.
During your first visit, we will give your pet a thorough physical examination, check for internal parasites, collect baseline blood work, and discuss your new addition’s care.
Nutrition, microchipping, flea preventive, vaccination schedules, house training, socialization, common diseases such as leukemia and heartworms, and spay or neutering will be topics you can expect to discuss during your wellness visit. We are happy to answer your questions about your new pet’s care and health during your visit!
We look forward to being a part of your pet’s life, from the first visit through adulthood.
