State-of-the-Art Surgery Center for Pets
There may be times in your pet’s life when surgery is necessary, and from spaying and neutering to emergency surgery, All Pet Animal Hospital’s veterinarians and technicians are experts at providing tender care during your pet’s procedure.
Before any procedure, please look at our Pre-Surgical Instructions sheet.
Types of Veterinary Surgery
We provide a wide range of veterinary surgeries, including:
- Spays and neuters
- Emergency surgery
- Lump/mass removal
- Abdominal surgery
- Orthopedic surgeries
Laparoscopic surgery involves inserting a camera and very thin instrument into a small access port to performing surgeries that would otherwise require larger areas of incision.
The advantages of laparoscopic spay surgery over traditional spaying include:
- Up to a 65% reduction in post-surgery pain
- Smaller incisions
- Less chance of infection
- Quicker recovery time
- Usually no follow-up visit necessary
- Less restrictions on activities
Preparing for Surgery
We will give you clear instructions on how to prepare your pet for surgery, including restrictions on food and water intake, how to handle medications, and when to arrive at the hospital. Once your pet arrives, our staff will take a pre-anesthetic blood sample and place an IV catheter running fluids to make sure your pet stays hydrated. Our surgical tables are even heated for your pet’s comfort.
Anesthesia: We Monitor Every Breath
One of the most important aspects of any surgery is anesthesia. We promise to monitor every breath your pet takes before, during, and after anesthesia is administered. We use the same cutting-edge technology that the universities use, and we always have a dedicated person in the operating room that monitors your pet’s breathing and vital signs.
Your pet’s comfort before, during, and after surgery is very important to us. Our doctors are very experienced in pain management techniques. Medication will be provided to ensure your pet does not feel discomfort.
